danielleDo you like to read books? How about listening to one? Now you have the opportunity to do just that. We are happy to make a much loved christian book available for listening in the french language: Steps to Christ by Ellen G. White.

Danielle Noël, who joined our team in September last year, was the initiator and the voice of this recording as she had a burden to share God’s love even more with French-speaking people. She put many hours into this which resulted in 13 chapters for the french speaking to take part of. We want to share her thoughts concerning this project so we have put together a mini interview in where she answers a few questions:

Better Living Ministry: How did the idea come up to do this project? And what was your motivation?

Danielle: The idea came when I was doing outreach one Saturday afternoon at a youth conference in Québec city. I met a lady, she was very kind and polite. She refused the literature I offered her because she was visually impaired. Then she asked if I had something that she could listen to? I answered “unfortunately not”. I decided to do a little research to find out if there were audio resources of our publications available in french. I discovered sites that did offer something, but all the sites I found used a computerized voice for their audiobook. It was very impersonal. That’s when I promised myself to put at least Steps to Christ in audio. That was 4 years ago. I’m glad that Better Living Ministry helped me to realize my long-overdue dream.

Better Living Ministry: Are there any experiences you learned from this recording that you would like to share?

Danielle: This was my first experience. It taught me a lot. Here are three lessons that I learned: First, God will provide. When I made the decision, I did not really know how I was going to make it happen. Someone who believed in this project donated a microphone. I did not even know how to use it. I had no sound booth nor did I know I needed one. I tried to record on my computer and on my cell phone but the sound was horrible. I left the project on hold…until I came to Better Living Ministry. I saw the cameras, the computers, the mixer, the microphones and a sound booth…then I knew that the project was going to be possible. Second, it takes a lot of little steps in order to achieve a goal. When I decided I was going to do this the project looked impossible. I almost got discouraged. Then, something or maybe Someone told me: “Record one chapter and then see how it goes”. I’m glad I listened to God. Within three weeks, one step at a time, the book was recorded. The last lesson I got is: God cares about me. I had a lot of unanswered questions about my future.Through reading this book, I got a lot of answers!

Better Living Ministry: Can you pick a favorite quote from any chapter.

Danielle: There are a lot of good quotes in this book. While recording, this quote meant a lot to me: “Let the soul be drawn out and upward, that God may grant us a breath of the heavenly atmosphere. We may keep so near to God that in every unexpected trial our thoughts will turn to Him as naturally as the flower turns to the sun…Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him. He who numbers the hairs of your head is not indifferent to the wants of His children”. Steps to Christ p. 99

Better Living Ministry: Thank you Danielle for taking the time to answer these questions.

We hope that you will be blessed by this audio book as you listen or share with your friends and family.
